[ SPINE ] is a literary project founded by writer, designer, and editor Cecil Fenn.

We are interested in embodied writing in all it’s forms. Writing that gets out of the head and into the hands. Writing that knows we’re all flesh and bone and blood. Writing that’s anchored in the concrete. We have a particular soft spot for horror and queer writing.

Informed by Cecil’s background in theatre, [ SPINE ] believes in taking a collaborative approach to writing. We think having experienced, committed editorial and design support is important for writers to build their craft and their reputations. [ SPINE ] seeks to engage emerging writers with the creation and editing process through publication and workshoping practices.
